Mrs. Rachel Eldridge
Hi, Mavericks! My name is Rachel Eldridge, and I am so excited to be your music teacher! This is my 11th year teaching elementary music, all in Plano ISD, and my 6th year here at Mathews. I have now taught some of your children since kindergarten!
I grew up in Allen, TX and received my Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University in 2013. SIC 'EM, BEARS! I met my husband Matthew at Baylor, where we were both members of the Golden Wave Marching Band. Matthew works as an accountant, and we have a beagle named Ellie who we think is the cutest dog in the world!
My husband and I have an 18-month-old daughter, Rebekah! She brings so much joy and happiness into our lives with all the cute and funny things that she does each day. We love watching her learn and grow! Rebekah loves music and loves singing and “dancing,” which makes this music teacher mama so happy!
I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping at outlet malls and thrift stores, and eating good Tex-Mex food. I also LOVE musicals, and enjoy attending the touring Broadway shows whenever they come to Dallas. My husband and I love to travel, camp, hike, fish, and spend lots of time doing outdoor activities. We enjoy watching Baylor basketball games on TV and in person when we can, and many of our weekends in the fall are spent in Waco attending Baylor football games! Music has been an important part of my life since the 6th grade, and I currently play the saxophone in the orchestra at my church on Sunday mornings.
I am looking forward to a fun-filled year of music making with every single student here at Mathews!
